Welcome to my blog!

My love of photography and story-telling began as early as my first photography class in the 8th Grade (Thanks Mr. Hubbard!). I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2005 with a BA in Photojournalism and have since been working as a photographer in the beautiful city of Asheville, NC. I specialize in photojournalistic wedding coverage and have been an award-winning member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) since 2008.

True to my journalism training, I like to capture the energy and emotions during a wedding day. I am drawn to classic images that tell a story and those that show the love between two people whether it's a father and his daughter, life-long friends, or two people in love. I am inspired by weddings because I see these love-filled moments everywhere I turn my head.

Ariel and Alison: Engaged!

Sunday, June 26, I met up with some great old friends in Raleigh for a really fun engagement session! Ariel and I have been friends since our days at Daniels Middle School and he and Alison have been dating for about 7 years now and are tying the knot this October (and I can’t wait!). The very first time I met Alison in Wilmington, I couldn’t help but fall in love with her too. She’s sweet, fun, genuine, and down-to-earth and a perfect fit for my friend Ariel. We started the photo shoot at Ariel and Alison’s house in Raleigh with their doggie, Stella (below).
