Rachna and Vikram, Part Two: The Wedding Day

One of the coolest things about my job is that I get invited to be a part of some truly fantastic celebrations and sometimes even learn a thing or two about how other cultures celebrate love. Also, I don’t just get invited to these events, I get a VIP all-access pass to every aspect of the event. It’s really quite an honor! On  April 8 in Downtown Raleigh at the Marriott City Center, I celebrated with the Sethi and Krishnan families as they united with the marriage of the BEAUTIFUL couple, Rachna and Vikram. These two are so well-matched and it was so great to see just how happy their family and friends were that they found each other.  Here are some highlights from this stunningly-gorgeous wedding day: (and be sure to check out the pre-wedding events on my previous blog post) A big shout out to the fantastic Ayesha Mian who seemlessly coordinated the day’s events!

Immediately before the ceremony, the Groom and his family and friends gathered for the Barat, which was my FAVORITE part of this entire weekend. I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming as I was photographing the groom’s family dancing and singing with drums in the middle of the street in downtown Raleigh (my hometown). The groom and his sister and nephew were in the horse and carriage behind the dancing. WHAT AN ENTRANCE!!!

Vikram was so sweet, wiping Rachna’s tears!

Literally, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room during these heart-felt speeches, including myself, my assistant Kat, and both the videographers.
