Rachna and Vikram, Part One: Pre-Wedding Ceremonies

This is part one of what was an entire weekend stocked full of great indian food, dancing, drums, family and friends, and celebration for the love of Rachna and Vikram. The festivities began on Friday with the Sangeet/Welcome Dinner (at One Eleven Place in Cary). Here are a few from Friday:

After a night of dancing and celebrating, everyone woke up on Saturday and headed over to the bride’s family’s home for the Vatna and Havan Ceremonies. I noticed this little saying on the fridge at Rachna’s parent’s home and I thought it was really appropriate for the day. There was so much love!

During the Vatna Ceremony, the bride’s family applies a yellow paste all over her to give her a beautiful glow on her wedding day. This was one of my favorite parts of the entire weekend because it was just so much fun and messy!

More to come in a few days of the wedding day!!! <3 Sarah
