Rachna and Vikram, Part One: Pre-Wedding Ceremonies

This is part one of what was an entire weekend stocked full of great indian food, dancing, drums, family and friends, and celebration for the love of Rachna and Vikram. The festivities began on Friday with the Sangeet/Welcome Dinner (at One Eleven Place in Cary). Here are a few from Friday:

After a night of dancing and celebrating, everyone woke up on Saturday and headed over to the bride’s family’s home for the Vatna and Havan Ceremonies. I noticed this little saying on the fridge at Rachna’s parent’s home and I thought it was really appropriate for the day. There was so much love!

During the Vatna Ceremony, the bride’s family applies a yellow paste all over her to give her a beautiful glow on her wedding day. This was one of my favorite parts of the entire weekend because it was just so much fun and messy!

More to come in a few days of the wedding day!!! <3 Sarah

Absolutely stunning and gorgeous photos Sarah! You are so talented and really captured the important and sweet moments. Can’t wait to see more photos.

[…] One of the coolest things about my job is that I get invited to be a part of some truly fantastic celebrations and sometimes even learn a thing or two about how other cultures celebrate love. Also, I don’t just get invited to these events, I get a VIP all-access pass to every aspect of the event. It’s really quite an honor! On ¬†April 8 in Downtown Raleigh at the Marriott City Center, I celebrated with the Sethi and Krishnan families as they united with the marriage of the BEAUTIFUL couple, Rachna and Vikram. These two are so well-matched and it was so great to see just how happy their family and friends were that they found each other. ¬†Here are some highlights from this stunningly-gorgeous wedding day: (and be sure to check out the pre-wedding events on my previous blog post) […]
