Welcome to my blog!

My love of photography and story-telling began as early as my first photography class in the 8th Grade (Thanks Mr. Hubbard!). I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2005 with a BA in Photojournalism and have since been working as a photographer in the beautiful city of Asheville, NC. I specialize in photojournalistic wedding coverage and have been an award-winning member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) since 2008.

True to my journalism training, I like to capture the energy and emotions during a wedding day. I am drawn to classic images that tell a story and those that show the love between two people whether it's a father and his daughter, life-long friends, or two people in love. I am inspired by weddings because I see these love-filled moments everywhere I turn my head.

Chrisan and Fenner’s River Arts District E-Session

I’m really looking forward to heading out to beautiful Lake Eden in a couple weeks for Chrisan and Fenner’s wedding day. These two have known each other since high school and both went to college at Appalachian State. They own and run Blue Meadow Farms together out in Hendersonville, NC growing food together and growing more in love with each other. A lot of their own food from the farm will be incorporated in the wedding food, which I’m super excited about. Here are some highlights from our engagement session, shot last Sunday out at the River Arts District in West Asheville.
