Erin and Jason at the Arboretum

I started off this fabulous labor day weekend photographing the gorgeous outdoor wedding of Erin Crouse and Jason Barker at the NC Arboretum in Asheville. This was my first wedding at the arboretum since they started doing weddings here this past year and I had a lot of fun shooting here.
Erin and Jason met while working on the 2004 Congressional Campaign for Patsy Keever. Jason was helping as a technology coordinator and Erin was a volunteer. The two connected again over involvement in the UNC Young Democrats  the following fall and thus began their friendship. They began dating a year later. They have been engaged since November of 2006, so Saturday’s wedding has been a long time coming to say the least!
Erin and Jason continue to share in their dedication to making their community stronger. Jason currently serves on the Chapel Hill Planning Board (among other things) and Erin is Vice Chair of the Chapel Hill Parks and Recreations Commission.
Below are a few highlights from their wedding on Saturday:
Below, Erin wore a pendant that belonged to her grandmother.

I loved Jason’s socks!!!
Guests begin to come in (below)…isn’t that light beautiful?!

The ceremony was conducted by Reverend David Peeler of Snow Hill UMC

Balsam Range, a fantastic local bluegrass band, performed at the reception.
Vimala Rajendran of Vimala’s Curryblossom Cafe in Chapel Hill came all the way up to Asheville to cater the event and the food was to die for!! I’m a big fan of Indian food to begin with, but every bite I took of this delicious food was pure heaven!
I loved how Jason looked at Erin 🙂
Erin and Jason, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day!
Another big thanks to Jennifer Callahan who served as my assistant for the day. She did a great job and I’m looking forward to working with her more this coming year! Thanks Jennifer!

This is my niece's wedding and the photos are fabulous and so real in depicting the actions and moods. Thanks for doing such a good job. Hazel
