Oh, what a career I’ve been fortunate enough to have! I first moved up to the Asheville area in 2006 and started my little photography business. I’ve documented so many joyous moments for families and couples over my 16 year career and been so very blessed. However, I am announcing that this will be the last year for Whitmeyer Photography. This was not an easy decision as I very much love photographing weddings and families and have been so honored to do this professionally for so long. I do plan to continue to photograph weddings as an associate photographer and as a second photographer for other local photographers in both the Asheville and Raleigh areas. Thus, I’m not leaving wedding photography entirely just giving up being a small business owner.
I have many wonderful weddings scheduled to photograph this last year (2022) and truly am excited to put all I have into my last year as a full-time wedding photographer and small business owner.
Moving forward, I plan to focus my time and energy on caring for my 1.5 year old daughter, Annie. This past year and a half, I’ve found it really difficult to put in the time it takes to run a business successfully and also be the best mama I can be. I’m sure many of you parents out there can understand the challenges of working from home and taking care of littles! Thankfully, my husband is working extra hard so that I can slow down and spend these next few years focused on taking care of little Annie.
I am truly grateful for these 16 years of running my business and for all my fantastic clients. I hope to be able to continue to serve both my community and my own family with a whole heart moving forward, just in a slightly different capacity.
