Alex and Christy in Raleigh, NC

I barely know where to begin with Alex and Christy!! Alex has been a friend of mine since high school when I dated one of his best friends and he dated one of mine! I’ve always thought really highly of Alex, he’s just one of those genuinely good people (they type you would set up with your best friend!). I was beyond thrilled when he contacted me about his engagement and the possibility of shooting his wedding and even more thrilled when I had the chance to meet Christy. Christy and I, while we never knew each other, found out we had an overwhelming amount of mutual friends including being in the same sorority (KD) at UNC, just at different times. The moment I met Christy, I knew Alex had found his match. She shares his sweetness and genuine nature and is bubbly and and so fun to be around. Shooting weddings for people like Alex and Christy is truly why I love what I do and why it’s such a rewarding job!

Alex and Christy were married June 25, 2011 in downtown Raleigh, NC.

I met up with Alex and Christy earlier this Spring for some engagement portraits in downtown Raleigh when I was in town shooting another wedding. I seriously can’t say enough fabulous things about these two…perhaps I should just stop and let the photos speak for themselves?

The wedding day started with hair and make up at Salon Blu at North Hills in Raleigh

Christy’s maid of honor, Julia, got a little emotional (above). It was such a sweet moment…I knew we were off to a good start!!

It was so awesome to see all these guys I grew up with!!!

We staged this photo of Alex and Christy holding hands without seeing each other before the ceremony. It was so sweet when Christy’s eyes started filling with tears!

OMG…Alex’s nephew Henry was too cute for words!

The ceremony took place at Edenton Street Methodist Church in downtown Raleigh

Another Broughton High School Alum and friend, Matt Ashburn, performed the ceremony. He’s currently a paster at Edenton St. Methodist.

Awesome moment of celebration right after the ceremony!! (above)

Everyone then headed over to the NC Museum of History for the reception. I really enjoyed shooting at the museum. What a cool place to have your wedding reception!

Greg of Joe Bunn DJ Company did a fantastic job keeping everyone out on the dance floor!

It was so much fun shooting this reception! I was dancing and smiling the whole time. How could you not when you’re seeing so much happiness??!

Alex and Christy made their grand exit and headed off to Jamaica for their honeymoon!!

I wish you two SO much love and happiness in your life together and want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be a part of such a special day. It means the world to me that my friends trust me to capture these special moments for them!

Another big thanks to my assistant for the day, Sam Ward, a fellow UNC J-School graduate, thanks for doing a great job Sam!

Christy – You and I haven’t met yet, but I’ve been a friend of Marsha (your Aunt) and your Mom Beverly since we were in Elementary School together. Marsha sent me your wedding pictures – they were so lovely! I wish you and Alex much happiness and love together.
