Welcome to my blog!

My love of photography and story-telling began as early as my first photography class in the 8th Grade (Thanks Mr. Hubbard!). I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2005 with a BA in Photojournalism and have since been working as a photographer in the beautiful city of Asheville, NC. I specialize in photojournalistic wedding coverage and have been an award-winning member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) since 2008.

True to my journalism training, I like to capture the energy and emotions during a wedding day. I am drawn to classic images that tell a story and those that show the love between two people whether it's a father and his daughter, life-long friends, or two people in love. I am inspired by weddings because I see these love-filled moments everywhere I turn my head.

Liz and Matt: Engaged!!

I had SOOO much fun during this engagement session with my old friend, Liz and her fiancee, Matt. Liz is just awesome and has always been such a fun girl! We go way back to middle school and it was beyond cool to catch up with her and get to know Matt a little bit. Liz and Matt met at law school and the two are both working in Knoxville, TN as lawyers. They tie the knot August 13 and I am so thrilled for my old friend that she’s found her match 🙂

This was one of my favorite shots of the day (above) and totally their idea! I love it!!

I gave them a couple of polaroids from my AWESOME new polaroid camera!! Check out that quality (Above)!!!

We ended the shoot downtown and shared a drink and some dinner at the Southern in downtown Asheville. Thanks so much for making the trip to Asheville for a photo session! Best of luck to you with your upcoming wedding!!! XOXO Sarah
