Ariel and Alison at the Timberlake House

It’s times like these when I remember why it is that I love my job so much. It’s because I get a front row ticket to all my old pals’ most important days. Ariel and I grew up together in Raleigh, NC and have been friends since middle school. I remember meeting Alison for the first time at a party at Ariel’s house in Wilmington, NC. I liked her immediatly. She’s so purely sweet and genuine, it’s really hard not to fall in love with her. The fact that I was a part of their wedding day many years later is pretty awesome, I think! Check out their engagement photos I shot this summer (in the sweltering heat!).

Ariel and Alison’s wedding day was ultimate perfection….seriously. The weather was gorgeous, everything ran smoothly, and we were graced with a post-ceremony rainbow. If that’s not a good omen, I don’t know what is!?

The ceremony and reception both took place at the Timberlake House, which was a gorgeous rustic yet classic venue and the perfect backdrop for their celebration.

Let’s start at the very beginning….

To me (and several members of the wedding party), this marks the kickoff of a great fall wedding season. Two of Ariel’s groomsmen are getting married later this fall and I’ll be photographing those weddings as well.

Ariel’s sister, Amber, conducted the ceremony. Above, she gets her mic ready.

Ariel gave me this look (above) right before the ceremony started.

Alison and her sister, Sara, weren’t the only ones wiping tears away during the ceremony. I was also sniffling and wiping tears the entire ceremony.

Introducing….Mr. and Mrs. Loder!!

These guys are next (above)!! Chris and Lindsay are tying the knot Oct. 22 in Chapel Hill and I’m thrilled to be the photographer for their wedding as well!

The Shakedown finished out the night and kept everyone rocking!

Ariel and Alison, thanks so much for sharing your big day with me and for trusting me to capture all the moments of your wedding day! I am so happy for you both and hope you’re having a blast backpacking across Europe!

Another GINORMOUS thank you to my newest assistant photographer, Kat Hedrick (below), who will be helping out with a bunch of Raleigh weddings with me this fall! Thanks so much, Kat! You did a fantastic job!!!
