John and Caroline at Deer Creek Run

My job grants me the opportunity to not only show up for my friends’ big days, but play an important role in them. This is truly one of my favorite reasons I love my job and I’m always so honored that friends trust me with their most important memories.

On Saturday, Oct. 15, I celebrated the wedding of good friends John and Caroline at Deer Creek Run just outside of Asheville. The weather was perfect and it was truly an idyllic fall day and the perfect setting for a wedding! I’ve known John since middle school. We used to goof off and make movies together. These movies were not your average “kids playing with the video camera” movies: They had scripts, actors, and were professionally edited in John’s editing suite he had at his house! It’s been years and John now makes a living making movies as the owner of Third Floor Productions.

Now on to Caroline. I fell in love with her the first time I met her when these two moved up to Asheville a couple of years ago. She’s genuine, sweet, and has a great sense of humor–all of which make her the perfect fit for John. Not to mention she’s super smart and studying to be a doctor. I actually caught her taking her pulse a few times on Saturday….so cute!!

I often get emotional during friends’ weddings, but this time the tears came while I was preparing the photos for this blog. Looking back at the photos, seeing their faces glowing, I was overwhelmed with all the love: The love John and Caroline have for each other and also the love of all those involved in their wedding day. I’m SO happy for John and Caroline and am proud to call them friends πŸ™‚

Here are some highlights from their wedding day, below. Also, check out their engagement session I shot earlier this year.

Strictly for documentation’s sake, I have to note that John was relaxing with the Kardashians (below) moments before his wedding! πŸ˜‰

All of Caroline’s bridesmaids were sporting their tee-shirts from the bachelorette weekend (above). Yes, that stands for “What Would Taylor Hanson Do?” Β πŸ™‚

John trades smarties for the rings! Both he and the ring-bearer were thrilled with this trade!

John’s sister Sarah (who has an awesome band, Ladies Gun Club) sang as Caroline walked down the aisle

Caroline’s grandmother made all the table runners! They were so gorgeous!!
