Welcome to my blog!

My love of photography and story-telling began as early as my first photography class in the 8th Grade (Thanks Mr. Hubbard!). I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2005 with a BA in Photojournalism and have since been working as a photographer in the beautiful city of Asheville, NC. I specialize in photojournalistic wedding coverage and have been an award-winning member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) since 2008.

True to my journalism training, I like to capture the energy and emotions during a wedding day. I am drawn to classic images that tell a story and those that show the love between two people whether it's a father and his daughter, life-long friends, or two people in love. I am inspired by weddings because I see these love-filled moments everywhere I turn my head.

Amy and Goose at Vesuvius Vineyards

First of all, let me just apologize for taking longer than usual to get Amy and Goose’s wedding up on the blog! It’s been a little crazy over here lately with getting the flu, catching up from getting the flu, traveling, and of course the holidays! This wedding was fantastic from start to finish and I really wanted to take my time with the blog photos and get it just right! Amy and Goose are such a down-to-earth couple who are crazy about each other!! I met Amy earlier this year for her bridal portraits and fell instantly in love with her. She has a radiant energy that she exudes that is just incredible and I can tell in Goose’s eyes that he sees this same loving spirit in Amy!

Amy and Goose were married Nov. 5 with the ceremony at Rock Springs Campground and the reception at Vesuvius Vineyards both in Denver, NC. Team photographer, Kate Monroe, and I travelled down to Denver celebrate this perfect fall country wedding day. Here are some highlights from this special day!
